We Are Enough

The Compassion Speak Blog

We are already enough, fully supported by the universe in a very personal way. There are many languages for this experience. The closer we get to source, the God of our hearts, the stories fadeaway and words become meaningless. Then the connection opens up into a full expression in this moment.

What is it that calls to us? Grace, a spiritual silence, a seamless joy. It is permeable; we wear it like a good suit. To the world, it is a beautiful dress, that others see in passing. It is contagious. Passersby pick it up from a smile, a gesture, a good intention.

One example of grace and mercy is that it is always accessible. It penetrates our heart and reaches out through our hands and touches each other. It mixes with what we see around us. It calls to us through the beauty of our language. In the landscape of our focus and what catches our attentions in a speechless moment. We stop to pick flowers. We complement it in others. It stimulates our discussions. It continues when we disconnect from it.

We can Ignore it, starve it, hide from it and run away. Just the other day I pulled the covers over my head and pretended it wasn’t there. In my weakness and distraction it carried me all the way through until a moment of clarity pulled me back into its mystery. It was there all the time.

In my quickened pace, or darkest of moments, I can experience what it is not. I am bound to its agreement to clean up the mess I created. I can’t escape the lesson. It will repeat and it will affect everything I touch.
I am clear on this point, it is I that judges, defines and places limits.
Mercy and grace is still there in the vastness calling out and inviting me to play.

One thing is clear, the way it frames your day is what mercy and grace can be right now. Let it carry you away like a favorite tune that warms a smile in the eyes and invites a stranger for dinner.
